Set Em Up Joe

Ernest Tubb, The Texas Troubadour was a great influence on The Voice and in 1988, Vern paid homage to his hero by releasing Set 'Em Up Joe on the LP record Chiseled in Stone. Set 'Em Up Joe was a tribute to Ernest Tub's classic hit song titled Walking The Floor Over You. (Scroll down to see the video)
It was Vern Gosdin's second number one hit on the Billboard Country Charts after 1983's I Can Tell By The Way You Dance. Set Em Up Joe shot straight to No.1 and spent a total of fifteen weeks on the Top 40 charts. In 2010, proving it's timelessness, this great Country Music Classic was re-recorded by Jamey Johnson on his hit album, The Guitar Song.
Set 'em Up Joe was labeled as a career defining moment in The Voice's four decade career span.

Lyrics
Set 'em Up Joe
Written by Vern Gosdin, Buddy Cannon and Hank Cochran
They got a vintage Victrola 1951
Full of my favorite records that I grew up on
They got ole Hank and Lefty and there's B24
Set 'em up Joe, and play ‘Walking The Floor’.
Set 'em up Joe, and play ‘Walking The Floor’
I'm gonna spend the night like every night before
Playin' ET and I'll play him some more
I've gotta have a shot of them old troubadours.
Set 'em up Joe, and play ‘Walking The Floor’.
Set 'em up Joe, and play ‘Walking The Floor’.
All my neon neighbors they like what I play
Cause they've heard it every night since you've walked away
Every day they replace old B24
'Cause every night I run a needle through ‘Walking The Floor’
Every night I run a needle through ‘Walking The Floor’.
I'm gonna spend the night like every night before
Playin' ET and I'll play him some more
I've gotta have a shot of them old troubadours.
Set 'em up Joe, and play ‘Walking The Floor’
Set 'em up Joe, and play ‘Walking The Floor’
I said set 'em up Joe, and play ‘Walking The Floor'
Set 'em up Joe, and play ‘Walking The Floor'.
